City shortcut road to be reopened
A road known as a notorious rat-run in Cornwall is to be reopened more than a year after it was blocked off.

Kea Downs Road was used by drivers as a shortcut from Chiverton Cross past Threemilestone and into Truro.

Cornwall County Council installed concrete bollards in the road which were knocked down in 2004 and rebuilt.

The council said the road was to be reopened and it was consulting on having a 40mph speed limit throughout the length of the road and by-ways.

The bollards to block the road were knocked down by what was thought to be a disgruntled driver in December 2004.

They were rebuilt, but officials said they would be removed when the road was reopened for traffic going in both directions.

Comments on what the speed limit should be have to be submitted to the council by 22 March.
