Boat death police seek witnesses

Benjamin Cochrane: Boat is being examined by investigators
Police are appealing for witnesses to a boating accident in a Cornwall harbour at the weekend.

Ben Cochrane, 31, died of multiple injuries when his small Dory boat was in collision with a speed boat in St Mawes on Saturday evening.

His brother, Frazer, and another man have since been released from hospital with cuts and bruises.

Officers who have spoken to people nearby want to trace two yachts seen near the collision site.

They say people on board a Bermuda sloop may remember the inshore lifeboat passing them at close distance.

The vessel was seen heading from St Anthony Head up Carrick Roads towards Mylor Harbour.

The second yacht was believed to be in the St Mawes area along the Percuil River at around 2230 BST.
