Royal pair to make official visit

Prince Charles is one of the biggest landowners in the South West
Duchy tenants in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will receive a visit from the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall next week.

It will be their first official visit to the South West since their marriage in April.

Prince Charles and Camilla will start their tour next Thursday at the Devon County Show.

They will the go onto Cornwall to see the ruins at Restormel Castle and on Friday they will travel on to the Isles of Scilly.

Present awards

The royal couple will visit livestock and flower and garden areas at the Devon County Show and present awards at the event.

At the Restormel Castle visit they will meet Cornish producers.

On Friday the Duke and Duchess will be in St Austell to open the Sir John English ward at the Community Hospital before making their way to the Isles of Scilly.

There they will visit St Mary's and St Agnes to meet island tenants.

As Duke of Cornwall, the prince is one of the biggest landowners in the South West.

As part of its estates, the Duchy of Cornwall owns 18,000 acres in Cornwall, 70,000 in Devon and almost all of the Isles of Scilly.
