Plans for hospital site submitted
Detailed plans for the transformation of a former hospital site in Cornwall are being sent to planners.

The Central Cornwall Primary Care Trust (PCT) will know within three months whether it has permission to alter the Truro site.

The multi-million pound scheme will replace in-town surgeries, combining practices in Lemon Street with the Leats Health Centre.

The PCT says if it gets the go-ahead, the centre could be ready in two years.

Housing is planned for the remainder of the seven-acre City Hospital site, including some low-cost properties.

Carrick District Council has teamed up with Devon and Cornwall Housing Association and Midas Homes to develop 191 homes, including 86 classed aS "affordable". The rest will be sold at market value.
