Contractors have started to dig the foundations of a bridge designed to relieve traffic at one of Britain's most notorious bottlenecks.
The Innis Downs roundabout is at the beginning of the route for the dualling of the A30 to Indian Queens.
Work began this summer on the £90m dualling around Goss Moor, but the erection of the bridge is the first major change motorists will see.
The scheme plans to stop the area's annual summer traffic jams.
The scheme includes putting in a number of smaller roundabouts, as well as the bridge, so that traffic will flow more easily.
A huge crane is in place ready to start digging the holes for the bridge.
The Highways Agency is asking motorists not to slow down and take a look at the crane as such actions were often a major cause of accidents.
The A30 at Goss Moor was named by the AA as one of the worst areas in the country for congestion.
