One of Cornwall's biggest china clay pits has been judged the safest quarry in the country.
Blackpool Pit near St Austell has not had an accident resulting in time off work for more than three years.
Imerys has won the 2005 Occupational Safety award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The company is the world's largest producer of china clay - with 39% of its production coming from Cornwall and 4% from Devon.
