Officer braved surf to rescue man
Investigations are continuing into the death of a surfer on a west Cornwall beach on Sunday.

An off-duty police officer pulled the surfer ashore at Godrevey and then performed mouth to mouth resuscitation on the beach.

The Portreath cliff rescue team and the air ambulance was sent to the scene and airlifted the Truro man to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske.

However, the man, believed to be in his 40s, was dead on arrival.
