Train company branching into art
St Ives
Many prominent artists made St Ives their home
A train company is trying to make its stations more attractive by installing works of art at two Cornish stations.

Wessex Trains wants to create what it is describing as an artistic gateway to St Ives.

Wessex, which operates branch lines, has joined forces with Cornwall Arts Marketing to make the St Ives and St Erth stations more attractive.

They say the route should reflect Cornwall's artistic history, and the artists who made St Ives their home.

All types of installations are being considered from paintings and murals to mosaics and sculptures.

The Cornwall Arts Marketing hopes it will make art more accessible for the public and improve their train journey.
