Cornish writer's death announced
Nick Darke
Nick Darke was born in Cornwall
Renowned Cornish playwright and author Nick Darke has died, it has been announced.

Darke was known throughout the county and beyond for plays such as The King of Prussia, The Dead Monkey and Ting Tang Mine.

A key collaborator with Kneehigh Theatre, he was born in Cornwall in 1948. His mother was an actress and his father a chicken farmer and fisherman.

Darke had been unwell after suffering a stroke in January 2001.
