Cornish festival's cartoon first

Films, documentaries, dramas and animations will be shown

More than 85 new productions will be screened at the Cornwall Film Festival which starts on Friday.

The festival, at Falmouth, is aimed at film makers and filmgoers and will include the first Cornish-language cartoon.

The three-minute animation is being described as the highlight of this year's festival.

The Fight That Didn't Go Right was made by pupils at St Stephens primary school near St Austell.

Three-day event

Throughout the three-day event, there will be screenings of Cornish films, documentaries, dramas and animations.

The festival takes place at a number of venues including Falmouth Arts Centre and the National Maritime Museum.

Workshops for film makers will include directing, producing, composing and cinematography.

The Fight That Didn't Go Right tells the story of a boxing rooster, a hippy flamingo and a levitating potato who come to blows.

It will be screened at the Children's Film Festival at Falmouth Arts Centre on November 12 from 1000 GMT.
