Fishing boat finds head in nets
Fishing nets
The discovery is being linked to the case of a missing diver
A human head has been caught in the nets of a fishing boat off the south Cornwall coast.

A Looe-registered trawler reported the discovery, made at about 1530 BST on Thursday, to coastguards and police.

Officers met the boat on its arrival back in harbour and the head was taken to Derriford Hospital for examination.

Police said it was not being treated as suspicious, but is being linked to the discovery of a missing diver's body last month.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out at the hospital on Friday.

Police believe the find is linked to the discovery of the diver by a fishing vessel nine miles off Cornwall on 21 June.
