Carnsew Quarry
The accident is being investigated by the Health & Safety Executive
A man who was killed in an industrial accident at a quarry near Falmouth has been named by police.

Robert Bickley died on Thursday after becoming caught in a crushing machine at Carnsew Quarry at Mabe.

The 41-year-old man, who lived with his family in Mylor Bridge, worked at Carnsew Quarry as a plant fitter.

It is believed Mr Bickley became caught in the drive wheel of a conveyor belt of the main crushing plant when he was repairing a swing shovel.

The police and the Health and Safety Executive is now investigating and the coroner has been informed.

In a statement, the quarry owner, Aram Resources, say its sympathies were with Mr Bickley's family.
