Detectives investigating the discovery of a man's body in the sea off Cornwall believe a second man may have been with him when he drowned.
Fishermen found the body of 56-year-old Peter Solheim five miles off Black
Head, on The Lizard, on Friday morning.
Mr Solheim, from the Falmouth area, is believed to have said he was going out in his small dinghy and might take with him another man, named only as Charlie.
Police fear they may now be looking for another body.
Missing boat
Mr Solheim was dropped off, along with his dinghy, at Mylor Harbour, near Falmouth, on Wednesday afternoon.
He told a witness he might be going out to join a larger boat.
Detective Inspector Neil Best, who is leading the inquiry, said: "We are appealing to anyone who uses Mylor Harbour and may be able to help identify Charlie to contact us.
"It is not difficult to see where this inquiry may be leading - it may be that we are looking for a second man out at sea."
A full forensic post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of Mr
Solheim's death was drowning.
His boat, which he kept at his mother's house at nearby Budock Water, has not
yet been recovered.
