Building firm is to lose 20 staff
Lark Construction sign
Lark Construction had operated for 32 years
A Cornwall building firm is to make up to 20 staff redundant.

Lark Construction, based in Redruth, was involved in building social housing but was sold two months ago to Rok after going into receivership.

Rok said it always intended to merge Lark's operations with its own and therefore it now had too many staff.

Rok said some workers may be found work elsewhere in the company and specialist advice would be offered to anyone unable to relocate.

Rok said it was confident Lark may expand again in the future.

Lark Construction had operated for 32 years and built up a workforce of 95, but began to experience cash-flow problems following a rise in the price of raw materials.
