Green business park wins award

An environmentally-friendly business park in Cornwall has won a major award

Six workshops and seven offices on Callington's Moss Side Industrial Estate scooped the prize for the sustainable features included in their design.

The units have been funded by Caradon District Council and Objective One.

They each include an earth energy air heating and cooling system, energy efficient lighting, sun pipes and carpets made from recycled materials.

There is also a prototype wind dam electricity generator unit on the site which will eventually provide some of the electricity.

The units beat off competition from two other short listed premises, including the Eden Project, to win the Michelmores and Western Morning News Award.
