85 jobs are on offer on the island of Tresco

A special recruitment event is being held to offer summer jobs on Tresco in the Isles of Scilly.

A range of positions in the tourism industry are available.

Each year the Job Centre in Buckwell Street in Plymouth has a special open day to promote the summer season jobs on the island, 28 miles of the coast of Cornwall.

The organisers says it is an ideal opportunity for people who want to try something a bit different.

The 85 jobs on offer include bar staff, chefs, room attendants, kitchen porters and receptionists.

Couples are also being encouraged to apply.

No experience is needed as training is provided.
