Workshops for Cornish writers
Clapperboard
50 delegates are taking part in the workshop
Writers in Cornwall who want to try their hand at screenwriting are being urged to attend a conference in the county this weekend.

It is believed to be the first event of its kind in the Cornwall.

The Cornish Screenwriting Workshop in Falmouth has been organised by the Penryn-based production company Mundic Nation.

It has been funded by South West Screen and the Creative Skills Consortium.

It will help teach the basics of writing for film and television.

Fifty delegates are taking part in the workshop including the Cornish writer DM Thomas and local actors John Macneill and David Shaw.

The organisers are hoping to tap the wealth of writing talent in Cornwall and create links with the new South West Film Studios in St Agnes.

It is hoped it will form an essential part of what they say is a viable local media industry.
