David Howarth
Mr Howarth is a fellow of Clare College, Cambridge

The Liberal Democrats have chosen a new candidate for Cambridge when the city's current MP David Howarth steps down.

Mr Howarth previously announced he was retiring to pursue his academic career.

Former city councillor Julian Huppert was selected out of the six nominees during the candidate selection hustings on Friday night.

Mr Huppert, who has pledged to represent the city's values, will now fight for the parliamentary seat at the next General Election.
