Council plan to cut budget by 10%

Jobs and services are under threat at a Cambridgeshire council where budgets are set to go £1.6m over budget.

South Cambridgeshire District Council must now cut expenditure by 10% next year, council leader Ray Manning said.

The authority is pledging to protect vital services. Proposals for savings will be discussed later this week by the cabinet and the council.

Residents will be asked for their views via the December issue of the council's magazine which goes to all households.
