Hospital's power supply back on

Electricity is back on at a hospital in Peterborough after supplies were cut and a back up generator failed.

Patients were asked to stay away from the accident and emergency clinic at the district hospital on Monday when underground cable problems cut power.

A fault with the hospital's back-up generator on Tuesday meant power supply was "at a minimum".

But repair work was finished late on Tuesday night and power was turned back on.

A number of operations were cancelled during the power problems.
