Hospital's power 'is at minimum'

Patients have been asked not to attend the Accident and Emergency clinic at Peterborough District Hospital unless it is a critical situation.

Power was lost in parts of the hospital on Monday following problems with an underground cable.

A further problem took place earlier with a back-up generator meaning the power supply is "at a minimum" according to a statement.

All elective operations have been cancelled until further notice.
