Parents charged over baby death

A husband and wife from Cambridgeshire have been charged in connection with the death of their six-week-old daughter.

Julia Lovemore, 41, of The Rowans, Milton, near Cambridge, has been charged with murder, police said.

David Lovemore, 38, of the same address, is charged with familial homicide.

The baby was declared dead on arrival at hospital on 17 June. The couple have appeared before Cambridge magistrates.

A court spokeswoman said the case had been sent to Cambridgeshire Crown Court.

She added that Mr and Mrs Lovemore had not "technically been remanded in custody as the pair were staying at Fulbourn Hospital" in Cambridge.

Familial homicide means allowing the death of a child for whom the accused had parental responsibility, police said.

Officers were alerted by a call from a GP at a surgery in Milton.
