War medals are stolen from family

Three World War II medals have been stolen from a home near Cambridge.

The Africa Star, Italian Star, and another World War II defence medal were stolen from a home in Wimpole Road, Barton, between 23 June and 30 June.

A police spokesman said the medals were of high sentimental value to the victim as they had been awarded to a relative.

He said the thief may try to sell the medals, which are inscribed with the first name Eric, the man they were awarded to.
