Pair held over armed hijackings

Officers investigating the armed hijacking of a police van in Cambridgeshire have arrested two men.

Two officers were forced out of the vehicle at gunpoint in Peterborough on Tuesday before it was driven off and found later in Suffolk.

Police said as 36-year-old man was arrested in Haverhill in the early hours on suspicion of firearm offences.

A 30-year-old man, from Haverhill, was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
