The final tenant of a building in Peterborough, set to be demolished as part of a £3m regeneration scheme, is set to leave the property on Thursday.

The Corn Exchange is to be demolished as part of the redevelopment of the area with a new square, which is near the present Cathedral Square.

The final tenant, wine and beer shop Bin Ends, is due to leave on Thursday.

Peterborough City Council said final negotiations over the building were also likely to be concluded then.

The redevelopment of the area is being paid for with a grant of £3m from English Partnership.

The grant is dependent on the development being completed by July 2010.
