Tree shredding gives green boost

A city council aiming to boost its green credentials has introduced a Christmas tree shredding service.

People in Peterborough can recycle trees into garden mulch at a shredding session in Central Park on 4 January started at 1400 GMT.

People can bring away the wood chips to spread on their own garden flower beds.

A spokesman for Peterborough City Council said the service was aimed at supporting its green lifestyles initiative.
