Theatre plans set to get backing

A campaign to raise £1m towards the development of the foyer at the Cambridge Arts Theatre is set to be backed by a £7,000 grant.

Cambridge City Council officers are recommending that councillors back the grant at a meeting in January 2009.

In a council report, officers say the funds would be towards raising audience awareness and a fundraising campaign.

The £1m will go towards the full £5m cost of improving the foyer. The report says the theatre asked for £10,500.
