Woman in village road sex attack

A woman was attacked and sexually assaulted as she walked along a road in a village in Cambridgeshire.

The 19-year-old was in Cambridge Road, Girton, when she was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation for a short time.

The hooded man then grabbed her and assaulted her before she was able to break away and alert police.

Cambridgeshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack which took place on Thursday evening.

The man is described as white, between 45 and 60, 5ft 9ins to 6ft, of medium build, with a white moustache and stubble.

Pc Matt Hart, from Histon Police Station, said: "The victim was not hurt but the assault left her upset and shaken.

"I would urge anyone who thinks they saw the assault or recognises the description given to contact police."
