Robber steals cash box from guard

A robber knocked a security guard to the ground before stealing the cash box he was carrying in Cambridgeshire.

Police said the guard was outside the Barclays Bank branch in High Street, St Neots when the robber ran at him and knocked him over.

He took the box before running off toward Moores Walk.

The security guard, aged in his 40s, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics. Police appealed for witnesses to contact them.

A police spokesman said it was thought the robber had been standing at a bus stop near the bank when he pulled a hat or balaclava over his face and ran at the security guard.
