Funds for young people's activity

Voluntary and community projects across Cambridgeshire are to receive grant funding totalling £48,500.

The county council's office of children and young people has pledged to support sports clubs, scouts, guides and amateur dramatics in Huntingdonshire.

A social centre for young people in Wisbech, youth activities and a tennis club in Ely will also get cash.

Youth schemes at Bar Hill and Fulbourn, education for Polish youngsters and cash for children are all included.

Cabinet member for children Martin Curtis said: "These are worthy and deserving projects, all of which directly or indirectly benefit children and young people across Cambridgeshire.

"I am proud that the county council is able to help them."
