Inquiry into restraint death case

Simon Bosworth called the police about a suspected burglary

A man who died after being restrained by police investigating reports of a burglary at his home, is to be examined by independent officials.

Simon Bosworth reported a suspected burglary in progress at his home in Oundle Road, Peterborough, to police on 5 July.

Mr Bosworth became unwell after being restrained by officers at the property. He died in hospital on 7 July.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is examining the case.
