Nursery secured by fingerprints
Fingerprint scanner in action
The nursery said the measures enhanced security
A nursery has installed a security system which scans the fingerprints of parents and carers.

The biometric lock controls have been designed to enhance security measures at The Day Nursery, Peterborough, which said it was a first for Cambridgeshire.

Lynne Draper, the nursery's owner, said parents' fingerprints are scanned and a numerical pattern attached to the print, not a direct copy, stored.

Manufacturers Nurserycam said the tool would ensure children were kept in.
