Store drops home calls after dark
A supermarket has suspended after dark home deliveries in part of a city following attacks on its vehicles.

Tesco said the Orton area of Peterborough, Cambs, had been blacklisted because of incidents involving youths.

A spokesman said: "In certain postcodes in Orton home deliveries are suspended after 1600 GMT because of anti-social behaviour towards our drivers.

"We never like to disappoint customers but staff safety must come first."

Insp Karryann Beeby, of Cambridgeshire police, said she hoped to meet Tesco representatives.

"As far as I'm aware, we have no knowledge of any such incidents or any problems with Tesco," she said.

"The total crime for the Orton area is down 36%, so I'm really surprised that Tesco has a problem."
