Texts advise of major emergencies
A text alert scheme is being launched in a district of Cambridgeshire which warns residents about major emergency incidents taking place.

Huntingdonshire residents, particularly those who work out of the district, can receive free text message alerts or e-mails in emergencies.

It is not intended to replace the existing Environment Agency flood warning text service.

Residents can register through the district council's website.
