The landmark, nicknamed The Ship of the Fens, is being used as a location for the film The Other Boleyn Girl.
The film, based on the novel by Philippa Gregory, also stars actors Kristin Scott Thomas and Eric Bana.
Filming, which began on Tuesday, will run up until Thursday. Both the cathedral and the Stained Glass Museum will be closed until Friday.
The Other Boleyn Girl, a BBC Films Production, is about the power struggles, rivalries and strained loyalties between Anne Boleyn and her younger sister Mary as they compete for the affections of King Henry VIII.
Anne Boleyn married King Henry VIII in 1533 but was executed in 1536. She was the second of the king's six wives.
The film has been developed for the big screen by BBC Films after the success of the TV film of the same name, which was shown in 2003.
The Other Boleyn Girl is due to be released in February next year.
