40,000 hide for wetland centre
Work has begun to build a 40,000 hide on a wetland reserve in Cambridgeshire.

The new hide at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust's site at Welney will be raised off the ground, making it accessible even during flooding.

The wetlands, on the Ouse Washes, are home to some of the most spectacular winter gatherings of wild swans.

The new South Wing Hide will offer visitors more choice when the water levels on the washes have risen making some areas inaccessible.
