Police are searching for a man who has not been seen since leaving a dinner at a Cambridge University college.

Daniel Bolger, 21, of Cherry Hinton Road, Cambridge, was last seen in the grounds of Magdalene College in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police said that despite searches in the college area, Mr Bolger, originally from North Shields, has not been found.

A red mountain bike he was riding on the night of his disappearance has been found in the city, police added.

Mr Bolger is a former student of Christ's College, Cambridge and works for the university library.

He was wearing a black dinner jacket, white shirt and bow-tie when he was last seen.

Det Insp Chris Mead said: "We are very concerned for Daniel's safety and I would again appeal to the public to contact us immediately if they think they have seen anyone matching his description."
