Police divers are taking part in the search for a man who has not been seen since leaving a dinner at a Cambridge University college.
Daniel Bolger, 21, of Cherry Hinton Road, Cambridge, was last seen in the grounds of Magdalene College in the early hours of Sunday.
Appeal posters are being distributed from a mobile police station at Magdalene Bridge, over the River Cam.
The Cambridge Police force helicopter is also being deployed to the area.
Mr Bolger, originally from North Shields, is a former student of Christ's College, Cambridge, and works for the university library.
A red mountain bike he was riding on the night of his disappearance has been found in the city.
He was wearing a black dinner jacket, white shirt and bow-tie when he was last seen.
Det Insp Chris Mead said: "We are very concerned for Daniel's safety and I would again appeal to the public to contact us immediately if they think they have seen anyone matching his description."
