Plans for a new state-of-the-art fire station in Cambridge are to be unveiled to the public on Thursday.

The proposed redevelopment of the Parkside Fire Station site in the city is going on public display and local people are being asked their views.

The new fire station will be the centrepiece of a development which will also include private flats.

The plans also allow for apartments for firefighters and new community and meeting rooms.

Ground plans, artist impressions and a model of the new site will be on display in the foyer area of the current fire station and members of the planning team and Cambridgeshire Fire Authority will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the plans.

The exhibition, for the start of a public consultation period, will be open on Thursday between 1700 and 2000 GMT, on Friday between 1200 and 1800 GMT and Saturday between 1000 and 1400 GMT.
