DNA testing often used in disputes over paternity
A new walk-in DNA testing service has opened at a private clinic based in Littleport near Ely, Cambs.

The Crown Treatment Centre offering the service is one of a network of more than 30 private clinics across the UK.

Crown says clients often need support and counselling in order to cope with the sometimes life-changing results of the test.

DNA samples are most commonly used in paternity tests to resolve disputes about the biological father of a child.

Until now, almost all DNA tests have been handled remotely through the post or via the internet.
