Woman charged with college attack
A 61-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a female mature student was stabbed in the head at Cambridge University.

Julie Simpson, 44, was stabbed at the women-only Lucy Cavendish College on Monday afternoon in what was understood to be a "domestic" incident.

Alethea Foster, of Shortlands, Bromley, sout east London, was due to appear at Cambridge magistrates on Wednesday.

Ms Simpson was stable in Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, on Wednesday.

She underwent surgery after suffering four stab wounds - one to the head, one to the chest and two to her hands.

Mrs Foster was arrested at the scene of the stabbing at the college's Strathaird Building.
