£7m to build 180 affordable homes

Peterborough City Council has secured more than £7m to build up to 180 affordable homes

The new homes will be built in the Hampton area and will be available for rent by local people on the council's housing register.

A council spokesperson said the project was the largest single affordable housing programme for many years.

The homes will be funded by the council, Housing Corporation and Anglia Housing Group.

Building work is expected to start in the Spring.
