'Pee pod' to cut street urination
A scheme to help cut down on late-night revellers urinating on Cambridge streets will be trialled for one night.

The city council plans to place five "Pee Pod" units at strategic points in the city centre on Friday.

The council say an increase in clubs and bars in Cambridge, particularly in the city centre, has created a number of anti-social behaviour problems.

The worst-affected areas include car parks, stairways, shops and businesses, the council explained.

The council says the problem is particularly prevalent at the weekends between 10.30pm and 3am when pubs and nightclubs shut or as revellers walk between venues.

The five units will be located in key hotspots: the Market Square, Hobson's Street, Drummer Street and Corn Exchange Street.

They will be on the street between 7pm on Friday and 7am on Saturday.
