A14 partially reopens after crash
overturned lorry
The overturned lorry blocked both carriageways
Two lanes of the A14 have been reopened following a fatal crash at Girton near Cambridge.

One person was killed, and two others had to be cut from the wreckage after three lorries and two cars collided.

Bad weather had hampered attempts to remove the two lorries which crashed at about 07.30 BST. One vehicle caught fire, while a lorry overturned.

The A14 was closed in both directions, but it was partially reopened during the evening rush-hour.

Traffic diverted

Those hurt were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. Two had serious injuries, while six had minor injuries.

Cambridgeshire Police are advising motorists to avoid the area.
