Anglian Water says it provides good value for money
Anglian Water bills are set to rise by up to twice the rate of inflation, figures released this week have revealed.

From 1 April, people with water meters will pay 4.1% more on average and people without metres will pay an extra 6.3%.

A spokesman for Anglian Water said the increase will help pay for much-needed improvements to service.

The company said it still provided good value for money.

Anglian Water - which supplies water in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire - said last year it wanted to see a 36.8% rise in bills between 2005 and 2010.

The company, which is owned by AWG, said the rise was necessary for the company to meet its environmental commitments, including dealing with flooding issues.
