City theatre under new management

Bristol Hippodrome
The Hippodrome opened in December 1912

Bristol's Hippodrome theatre has been sold-off as part of a £90m deal.

Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) says it has completed its purchase of Live Nation's UK theatres, creating a combined business valued at £150m.

It also announced that former BBC boss Greg Dyke will be joining the company in the new role of executive chairman.

The venue, which opened in December 1912, is thought to be the only theatre left with a dome in the roof which can be opened.

Live Nation said it wanted to concentrate on its "core business" of producing, marketing and selling live concerts.
