Detectives have revealed that a man who died after a robbery in Avonmouth was assaulted by a gang wearing "Halloween-style" masks before he collapsed.

Night manager Senel Mansiz, 30, had a cardiac arrest and died after the raid at M and M Catering Supplies in Avonmouth at 1930 GMT last Thursday.

Police are treating the death as murder because it happened straight after the robbery and is directly related to it.

Detectives are renewing their appeal for witnesses.

"They are seen wearing hooded tops with Halloween-style masks over their faces", a force spokesman said.

"One of them is carrying what looks like some sort of club."

Detective Chief Inspector Garry Reeves, who is leading the murder investigation, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the St Andrew's Road area in Avonmouth at the time of the incident to contact us or Crimestoppers anonymously.

"And I'm appealing directly to the robbers themselves.

"I have seen the complete CCTV footage of what happened inside that office and I urge them to come forward and help us."

Two men, aged 22 and 24, arrested on suspicion of murder have been bailed.

A 27-year-old man, who was also arrested at the same time over the incident, remains in police custody.
