Teresa Wasik has received treatment for terminal cancer in Bath

A terminally ill Polish woman being treated in hospital in Bath will fly home to see her family on Thursday.

People from the local community have pledged about £9,000 to pay for a specialist medical flight to repatriate Teresa Wasik who has cervical cancer.

Ms Wasik, 34, came to England to find work and settled in Wiltshire. She said she was trying to make a better life for her son, Kuba, 11.

She said her dying wish was to spend her final days with her family.

Jay Jay Martin from the Central and East European Information Service in Bristol said she had only days to live.

He said: "When I spoke with the doctor and the nurse they told me she is dying and has maybe just a week left.

"I also spoke with Teresa and she is just denying anything is wrong.

"She told me she is looking forward to seeing her mum and Kuba, and her mum always told her to look at the bright side for the future and all will come good.

"I think she is holding on till she sees them."
