Detectives are investigating several reported sightings of Hannah Saaf, the woman wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Bristol.
Sam Riddall, 11, died when a Ford Focus mounted the pavement and hit him in Westbury-on-Trym on 1 May.
On Thursday Sam's mother Rachel Riddall urged Ms Saaf, 27, the registered owner of the car, to come forward.
Police said there have been several possible sightings of Ms Saaf within the force area and in Wiltshire.
"Following extensive coverage of the press appeal to locate Hannah Saaf I can confirm there have been a number of sightings of Hannah which police are investigating," said a spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Police.
Twin children
"These sightings are located within the Avon and Somerset force area and the Wiltshire force area."
There has so far been just one confirmed sighting of Ms Saaf - in the centre of Bristol on Saturday afternoon.
Police have previously appealed twice for information to trace the mother of twin two-year-old boys.
Police said they would not comment on the whereabouts of Ms Saaf's children.
It is not known whether Ms Saaf and her husband Nicholas Saaf are still together.
Inspector Rob Pearson said airports, ports and British Transport Police were on alert.
One Friday evening, friends of the victim, 11-year-old Sam Ridall, met at his church youth club to remember him.
