Clampdown on bus lane motorists

Police in Bristol are planning to clamp down on motorists who use bus lanes in the city.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the force would be issuing 30 fixed-penalty notices to offenders starting from Thursday.

"The first operation will be held during the evening rush hour on 15 January in the Redcliffe area of the city," he said.

The lanes could only be used by buses, taxis and motorcycles, he added.
